As the title says, I am curious as to what everyone's favorite Star Wars movie was. I will put my explanation later today, as i do not have much time to go into detail right now.

Just enjoyed Revenge of the Sith cause the story of Anikan's Fall to the Dark Side seemed really tragedy so did the exile of Yoda and Obi-Wan

Return of the Jedi. Finally seeing the evil vanquished from the galaxy and a time of peace comes to the people.

I preferred the original trilogy. The prequels were cool in terms of graphics and fights, but you already knew what was coming. The OT hit you by surprise, like "Woah Vader is Luke's father?" Instead of "Oh hey, Anakin turned to the dark side, no surprise there." lol

Return of the Jedi. Me being a big Rebel Alliance guy, I loved to see the Empire finally crippled in the galaxy and seeing the Emperor killed. It was ashame to see Vader be redeemed and then killed off, but hey, by that time he wasn't really the great Anakin Skywalker that he used to be.

I just thought the trench star fight in A New Hope was unbeatable, to see that in 3D would be awsome. I'm really surprised people voted for the new trilogy (you should be ashamed of yourselves) the only bit of the movies that I really liked was Darth Vader getting kitted up at the end; oh and hey you forgot to list Star Wars: The Clone Wars!

Hmm, I always loved answering this question due to the many different opinions I have about the series. First off, my favorite in The Empire Strikes Back. It was my father's favorite back in the day which may have contributed why I love it so much, but I just enjoyed Hoth, Luke's training, and the revelation in Cloud City. For second favorite it comes to a close tie with Phantom Menace and A New Hope. Phantom Menace does win thought because I thought that two of the main actors (Liam Neeson and Ewan Mcgregor) were just excellent Jedi. As a matter of fact I believe Ewan Mcgregor was the saving grace in the prequels, he did an amazing job portraying a younger Alec Guinness.

With that out of the way my least favorite is Return of the Jedi. Thought the beginning was awesome on Jabba's barge but they really ruined it with the teddy bears. I know thats such a common hate on the movie it really personally ruined the experience for me with that picture.

The teddy bears were sooooo cute. I loved episode one Qui-Gon is one of my favorite characters and I really think that he made the movie, even though he died in the end. Plus there was a sense of suspense even though we know where it is going in the end.

I was not a fan of the Ewoks either. But ROTJ still is my pick because I loved the space battle, and the light side finally triumphing over the darkness.

The super battle destroyer crashing into the death star has to be one of my favourite movie scenes of all time; also here how episode one could have been ten times better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObcYgDZ9aqo&playnext_from=TL&videos=A7tRdy8GKD8

I'll rephrase my earlier comment. Yes, the Ewoks were cute, but I don't think they had any business in ROTJ. Seeing a bunch of teddy bears take out an elite imperial battalion.... eh, it just didn't tie into the film that well for me.

Yeah, despite their cuteness, you do have a point. How in the world did the mighty Empire get beat up by those little furballs?

Interesting. So far, no one has chosen Attack of the Clones.

And the reason I did not put The Clone Wars in there is because I don't think it should really count. It caters to the younger people and it takes away from a lot of things. There was no mention of Ahsoka in Ep. 3.... So in my opinion it isn't really canon.

It had some good points though, don't get me wrong. But i wish they made it a little more truer to the movies, not going off and rescuing baby hutts. Putting in hacking and slashing and more fighting, like Final Fantasy: Advent Children.

Agreed, they could have done so much more with that movie. Having it about new characters rather than just Anakin and Ben would have been good as well, this along with TV show, its getting a little hard to believe that two guys did all this stuff.

I did like how they showed the other members of the order, Kit Fisto, Plo Koon, etc. It really expanded on them and gave them some detail before thier tragic deaths.

I didn't mind having Anakin and Obi-wan in there, just wanted to be more adult based, with more fighting and yes more failing. Anakin may have been the 'Chosen One', but all chosen ones get thier butts kicked now and then, except Neo, who was just crazy unstoppable.

Though I'm not officially a part of you all I voted and will rank these:

1) Empire Strikes Back- I thought of all the movies this featured the most character development where we got to see a little bit beyond the "arch-types" as the bad guys are closing in on the heros. I think that it has some of the best dialogue in all 3 original films. Best exchange ever:

Princess Leia to Han Solo (Being lowered into the pit to be frozen in carbon): I love you.

Han Solo: I know.

lol. Anyway. All of the training with Yoda and Luke facing his inner demons and worst nightmare coming true (Luke vs Vader in this is one of my favorite lightsaber battles) was I think what makes this my top pick. I also can't shake the shock of discovering Vader was Luke's Father (yes I got to watch a double feature as a child when Empire first came out lol).

2) Revenge of the Sith- It was wonderful to see Anakin's painful transformation into Vader pulled off so well. I really thought Obi-wan carried this film, it was almost like he was the inner conscious of Anakin, trying to get through to him until the last. Plus the fight between Obi and Grievous was a nice departure since it was part chase scene, part light saber duel, part fist fight and a Jedi actually used a blaster! Yoda vs Palpatine was fun too. lol.

I think it contained some pretty good dialogue but I think my favorite was:

Padame (after Palpy's announcemnt of the Empire): So this is how democracy dies... to thunderous applause.

3) Attack of the Clones- I loved the feel of this movie. It felt like a spy thriller, the romance wasn't portrayed as amazingly but it was sort of fun and playful, and the Obi part of this film I thought was the best. The "love theme" from this is one of the best Williams pieces has written in this series. The Yoda vs Dooku lightsaber duel was awesome and I think my favorite even over Luke vs Vader.

4) A New Hope- I loved how this movie kicks off with the space battle and ends with the trench battle. Wonderful dialogue exchanges and Obi's sacrifice was such a shock when I saw it for the first time.

5) Return of the Jedi- I thought it was a satisfying end to the series. The barge battle, Rancor and Vader's redemption all made this movie uplifting and satisfying.

I honestly don't get the Ewok hate just because they are "cute" and "small". Yoda is "small" but its okay because he's ugly so no one complained when he beat Dooku's butt. What rule is written that all lifeforms have to be ugly to win? The point of the Ewoks was no matter how small a contribution or your size you can make a difference. They did nothing more fantasic than dropping logs and rocks on top of the enemy. Far more of them were killed in the sequences than Imperials. If you've ever bother to listen to Lucas's explaination they do indeed make sense. He wanted Primative vs. Technology (sort of the theme of Avataar) and David vs Goliath which fit in well with Yoda's statement "size matters not".

6) Phantom Menace- While I enjoyed it it ws my least favorite. Favorite part of this one was the Pod Race.

It wasn't about being small and cute. Yoda had the Force. I know the ewoks took the stormtroopers by surprise but still, they were the elite troops. The emperor said so himself. And you can't really compare Avatar because they had the help of all those other creatures. And David and Goliath, David hit him in the head with a rock, Goliath wasn't wearing stormtrooper armor or helmet.

It really isn't about the ewoks though. If it were me, I would have just left the part where palpatine tells luke that his elite troops are going to kill his friends out of the movie.

Hobbits can even be great in a fight, but if they beat the Nazgul, I would say wtf.... but against regular grunts, it is more believeable.

I got off topic.... anyway, I am just gonna run away now.

I get what your saying, Ewoks are one of my most disliked things about the series (behind the great Ja Ja Binks). The combination of them being cute and them wiping the floor with the stormtroopers despite being outmatched on all fronts annoyed everyone.

If they had run in and all been slaughtered but created enough of a distraction for the rebels to escape ect that would have been really good, likewise if they had been more menacing (apparently in the first draft they were all Wookies) that would have worked.

For me it represents the beginning of Lucas's downfall, as except for the last 10mins from Revenge of the Sith I couldn't stand any of the new trilogy.

I really didn't get the impression that the Ewoks "wiped the floor" with the Storm Troopers at all. Actually everytime I"ve watched it I never felt that way. That's why I'm not sure why there are so many that got that impression.

I do agree that RoTJ wasn't as good as the other 2 movies but I don't think it was ruined because of the Ewoks.
